Book Club: Earth Power (Part 2)
Welcome back!
I am so glad that more people are checking me out on here and I am so very thankful to those that have joined me on Patreon! Things will start become more regular this month as I get into a routine with it! There’s a lot going on when it comes to social media, blogging, vlogging, and stuff, so bear with me!
I updated the additional documents I sent out to paid members. I moved my website and lowered the opacity so its not so in your face. I also made some changes on the headings. I am also uploading a few more documents this week to track spells and take notes after preforming divination. These documents will be available to everyone.
Part 2: Elemental Magic
By this point, we should be done with Part 1 and be heading into Part 2 which is 4 chapters. Each chapter is a different classic element and now we out of the heavy reading section as the rest of the book is essentially a spell book. If you need some extra time to complete Part 1’s homework that is fine. Remember this is meant to be asynchronous. I would plan to spend the next 4 days with an different element.
These chapters are by no means extremely expansive but they do each have a variety of spells and rituals to try. This won’t be our last time with each element, so don’t feel rushed. We want to start building up an idea of what is possible with each element so we can create unique spells when various scenarios come up in our lives. Take note of common themes and anything that stands out about each element. I took extra time to allow each element to take up space in my body so I could feel it and journaled how that experience felt and how it manifested. In my practice, I will occasionally work with an elemental spirit as a guide. It could be beneficial to do this as well, especially if you want to go deeper into elemental magic.
While I don't have an “elemental altar,” I do decorate my mantle with various objects and trinkets that represent the elements and store some of my unique items like feathers and shells as well. Then my hearth acts as a altar space where I meet the elements, and I normally set up a candle and some associated items to call in the power. This is my main altar space.
homework:
read part 2 (4-8 days).
(due later) start looking for a divination method (tarot, pendulum, and scrying are beginner friendly). Practice this week using a divination method. Even if you don't want to practice divination often, it can be important when thinking about performing spell work and after you’re done.
Continue to practice using the power hand.
Start tapping into elemental energy this week. Spend at least a little bit of time with each element and explore what its energy feels like.
You could imagine the energy of the element rising up from inside you or use your opposite hand to “receive” the energy from a physical representation of the element.
Practice spell work
Try out a spell from each element. Feel free to try multiple, but make sure you take your time and write down as much as you can about the experience. This can help you identify causes of less than expected results.
